Cleveland Engagement Session | Olivia and Drew

One of my favorite parts of being a small business owner in my hometown is being able to share my photos with friends and loved ones. Mix that with travel and count me in! Olivia’s sister, Caroline, was one of my close friends in high school and Olivia played ice hockey with my sister, April. Olivia’s dad also coached my team throughout my youth soccer career! So, the Wilcox family has always been an important family during my childhood. When Olivia reached out after her engagement, I was so honored to shoot her Cleveland engagement session and I couldn’t be more excited to capture her wedding day!

To start off their Cleveland engagement session, Olivia and Drew shared a cheers at their favorite bar, Hoopples. Cheers to forever!

Big City Lovers

Olivia and Drew have started their life far from Brockport, NY, though. Drew is a Cleveland native and Olivia has grown to like the city. So, the two plan to stay! In order to celebrate their love in their forever city, I traveled from New York to Ohio for their Cleveland engagement session. Olivia and Drew showed me some of their favorite spots around the city. The tour definitely did not disappoint! Our second stop was The Arcade, a historic shopping center in the heart of the city.

A Love for the History Books

After The Arcade, we headed to the Cleveland Public Library. This library has been serving the Cleveland community since 1869 and has played a large role in education and outreach for the region. I’m always down to see new places and learn new things, so when Olivia and Drew suggested the library, I was so excited to explore! We even played around a bit in the street for a few blurred photos. It was the perfect mix of timeless and trendy for this Cleveland engagement session.

Set Sail on Forever

One thing Olivia and Drew knew they wanted were some photos with the Cleveland cityscape in the background. Back home, I love to shoot the Rochester cityscape! In order to get the perfect shot, we headed down to the coast of Lake Erie and captured some magic at the Historic Cleveland Coast Guard Station. Lake Erie serves many major cities, including Buffalo, NY, just an hour from home!
