Independence Day Wedding | Liz & David
Although this wedding was technically on July 2, 2022, I still consider it an Independence Day wedding. America was definitely the vibe! The groom, David, is active member of the United States Army, so he can appreciate a good Independence Day party. What’s a better way to celebrate our freedom than a wedding reception with close friends and family?
The Preamble
Getting ready photos are the preamble to the wedding. These shots set the stage (and the energy) for the rest of the day. Liz and David hosted their wedding at Westminster Weddings & Events in Mendon, NY. One of my favorite functions of this venue is that everything is in one place! No travel time needed. Liz and David were able to hold their ceremony and party at their reception all in one place. Liz’s parents opened their home for some getting ready shots. The lighting here was amazing! I mean, aren’t these photos incredible?!
Red, White, and You
I’m such a softy for first looks! Liz and David’s was just soooo special. Although a few happy tears were shed, David could still see clearly that Liz was his future. The smiles from these two could stretch across all 50 states! They’re the definition of a happy couple.

Something so special about this Independence Day wedding was the incorporation of red, white, and blue. As an active member of the United States Army, David was proudly waving the American flag for some baller shots with his bros (and his babe). Liz’s bridesmaids wore muted blue gowns and carried red and white bouquets down the aisle. Subtle elements like these can really tie a theme together.
We’re The Kids in America (Woah!)
Liz and David truly are just two kids in America (woah). These young lovers had an intimate indoor ceremony with close friends and family. I absolutely loved the florals and greenery that was draped along the aisle. Such a beautiful element! After a kiss and a dip, these two headed off to their Independence Day wedding reception.
Baby, You’re a Firework
Don’t mind the cheesy Katy Perry quote, but these two really are a firework. Their spark is unmatched! One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer is witnessing two people in love. The chemistry and overall energy of love is overwhelming. Of course, in the best way possible. Liz and David were a perfect example of romance in action!
Party Like a Patriot
Everyone loves a good party in the USA. Liz and David sure do know how to throw a fun wedding reception! I mean, name a better end to a Independence Day wedding than a sparkler send off? And can we talk about Liz’s outfit change?! It’s basically Taylor Swift’s Fearless dress, but a wedding rendition (and we all know how I love T-Swift).
