4th of July Proposal | Battisti Jewelers X SLZ Photography

Well ladies and gentleman, it’s time for the crossover of the century: SLZ Photography X Battisti Jewelers. The plan for Desi and Andrew’s 4th of July proposal all started when Jody Battisti, the owner of Battisti Jewelers in Rochester, NY, reached out to me with an idea. As a friend to Desi’s family, Jody has helped to create all the engagement rings in the family. So, our scheme for this proposal was to recruit Desi and her sisters to model some jewelry for the Battisti Jewelers website and Instagram. After some jewelry modeling shots to throw Desi off, it was Andrew’s time to shine.

Some of my favorite proposal photos involve a perceptible reaction from the bride-to-be. Everyone loves surprises, especially if it means there’s a ring at the end! Speaking of the ring, can we talk about how Andrew and the Battisti’s killed it?! Even John Hancock’s signature on the Declaration of Independence wasn’t as big as this rock.

Let’s Party Like it’s 1776

In the words of Miley Cyrus, this session was a party in the USA. I think we can all agree that a 4th of July proposal wouldn’t be complete without a fireworks send off. Desi’s family, in true American fashion, purchased some at-home fireworks for the holiday and some backyard fun. And fun it was! From now on, fireworks will always remind me of this special day and these special humans!
