This Washington DC engagement session isn’t where this story started…
I had the pleasure of meeting these two when I was given the honor of capturing their proposal at Taughannock Falls! Emma and Fady’s story began at Cornell University, and their first date was at Taughannock Falls. This place held a special significance for them ever since. So, Fady decided this would be the perfect place to pop the question. When Fady proposed to Emma, you could feel the joy, love, and pure excitement between them. I remember smiling ear to ear when they asked to capture their engagement photos and their wedding in Washington DC!
Now, let’s get back to their engagement session in Washington DC!
We knew waking up early would be the key to avoiding the crowds of tourists and capturing the perfect shots. So, we set our alarms for well before dawn and met at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial just as the first light broke over the horizon. To my surprise, there were lots of people waiting to watch the sunrise, and even 4-5 other photographers doing sessions already. With some photoshopping and lots of patience, we got some great photos with the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial! We had the perfect morning, and I was so excited to get to work on editing these photos.
Next up, wedding day!
This visit to DC was an absolute blast, and thanks to Fady and Emma’s engagement session I was able to check off a session here off my bucket list! Capturing their love and happiness is always such a joy, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to continue to work with them and capture these special moments. I can’t wait to share the stunning images and write about their wedding day in an upcoming blog post. So, stay tuned for that!
